One Killed and Four Seriously Injured in San Diego Plane Crash

One woman was killed, while a man and three children were seriously injured in a San Diego plane crash yesterday afternoon. The small, home-built aircraft crashed right next to the 11th hole of the Admiral Baker Golf Course, as those on the ground looked on in horror.

Before emergency responders arrived at the crash site, a maintenance worker employed by the golf course and several golfers were able to cut two passengers out of the backseat. The front of the plane was so smashed that they could not reach the remaining three occupants.

Of those that did not perish in the plane crash, it was reported that all face critical, potentially fatal, injuries. Names of the victims have not yet been released.

Fatal Plane Crash Claims Three Lives In California

Three Tesla Motors employees were killed in Palo Alto on Wednesday when their small plane struck power lines following takeoff. The National Transportation Safety Board is currently investigating the plane crash, but have not revealed any findings yet.

This is second fatal private aviation accident involving power lines this year.

In early January, a helicopter carrying three scientists and a pilot crashed into unmarked power lines in California, causing a fire on the craft that killed all four. The Federal Aviation Administration places the responsibility of placing lights and markers on power lines with the companies that own them, but does not require it.

At this time, unmarked power lines are not believed to have been a factor in Wednesday's fatal plane crash.
