Actress and songstress Christina Millian's elderly neighbor has hired a personal injury attorney to go after the singer/actress. The 81 year old man claims that he was allegedly attacked by her dog in 2008. Now, Lee Skolion is suing his neighbor and her family for an undisclosed amount in documents filed at Los Angeles County Superior Court., according to TMZ.
In his personal injury lawsuit, Skolion alleges negligence on the part of Milian and family. The bite, he claims, occurred after Christina's home had alleged flooding issues, causing the gate between the properties some damage. As a result, Skolion claims that he went onto Milian's property to talk about fixing the gate, when the family's dog leapt up and attacked Skolion.
Skolion claims he needed 9 stitches and 9 months of rehabilitation to recover. In addition, he alleges severe emotional distress, claiming that he needs the help of psychiatric professionals to help him through the anxiety.
Milian is best known for her music, although she has also appeared in several films, most recently, The Ghosts of Girlfriends Past.
Dog bite cases certainly are not rare to San Diego personal injury attorneys. Although there are many cases of dog bites, deaths by dog bite are relatively rare, according to a San Diego Tribune columnist.
The Los Angeles court will be left to deal with the question of evaluating Skolion's legal claim and deciding if Christina Milian and family are, in fact, responsible for the injuries suffered at the hands of their dog.
If found negligent, Christina and family may pay a huge price for the acts of their beloved canine.
